Shawn Thomas Martin

Shawn is currently a 5th Year Architectural Engineering student at Penn State University. In May of 2018, Shawn will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree (ABET Accredited), with a focus in Construction Management. 

Shawn's previous experience includes three summer internships during his college career. Over the 2017 summer, Shawn was a Construction Intern for Gilbane Building Company in the Mid-Atlantic Region. He assisted on Phase 4 the Herbert C. Hoover Building Modernization, working alongside the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer. In the summers of 2014 and 2015, Shawn interned for an Energy Services Company called Plug Smart. Plug Smart specializes in mainly Mechanical and Lighting retrofits, with most of their business done in school districts and Veteran Affair medical centers. 

Outside of his professional experience, Shawn enjoys traveling and participating in Penn State's largest student run-philanthropy, THON. During the the 2016 summer, he participated in Penn State's AE China Study Abroad Program. As a family, the Martin's have traveled to visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums over the span of a decade, concluding in their quest in 2013. Shawn has also been an avid THON volunteer for the 5 years he has been at Penn State to help provide financial and emotional support for families who suffer from pediatric cancer.
